For many of us, works and other things that we have to take care of leaves stressed and overloaded.  There s so much pressure on employees no wonder the level of stress.  Well, the worst thing to note is that when employees are stressed, they take it at home and back to the office.  It should be a concern when the employees are stressed, since stress levels affect productivity negatively. Prioritizing the health and wellbeing of employees is something that employers have got to do.  There are issues that require to be addressed to ensure that employees stay free from stressed and that they are as productive as they should be. 

One of these things is that employers should ensure open communication.  Well, when someone asks for a day of after days of trying to complete a challenging assignment with strict deadlines, then that one can be understood and excused.  However, there are cased when employees will ask for breaks just because they need to decompress, whether the issues are work related or social issues.  Well, most of the times, such breaks are not encouraged.  And when this happens, the performance of an employee can be affected to a level that they finally decide to leave your organization.  In such a case, it is therefore important that employees provide forums and programs as well as systems that enhance open communication.  Also, let the employees share confidentially with professional counselors who can determine whether or not they need some time off.  Being mindful of employees is also one tip of reducing stress. 

Coming up with mental health days at the workplace is also something that should be implemented.  This should be able to encourage transparency and better communication of issues among employees.  Let the employees feel safe to speak out so that they are guided accordingly on the steps to take to reduce their stress levels.  As well, the workplace and team leaders should get more concerned and be bold enough to ensure hat anyone that needs a mental health day off gets it.  It is no good having people stressed and feeling sick in the office. 

Having a healthy culture is also important for the wellbeing of employees.  Go for perks and occasions that make employees hap from time to time.  Even the little things such as gifs and trips can really make a difference.
